TradeCast founder Yillmaz Schoen named ‘Starter of the Year 2016’
Scalability, a disruptive technology and huge potential: Yillmaz Schoen, founder and CEO of Dutch startup TradeCast, has been named Starter of the Year 2016 during the fifth Region Zwolle Congress, the most prominent business congress in the Zwolle region.
The yearly awards for best regional entrepreneurs were presented on Thursday during the Region Zwolle Congress in a packed theatre De Spiegel in Zwolle, The Netherlands, with Jort Kelder presenting the awards show.
The expert jury, led by chairman Klaas Feenstra, calls TradeCast’s Yillmaz Schoen ‘a real pioneer with worldwide ambition’. “Yillmaz will travel to Las Vegas and Silicon Valley in January, as one of the leading Dutch innovators selected by Dutch Prince Constantijn of Holland. He’s changing the TV world by staying ahead of the curve. TradeCast distinguishes itself with its scalability, disruptive technology and huge potential, thereby adding immense value to the Zwolle region.
Yillmaz Schoen, founder and CEO of TradeCast: “As an entrepreneur, you’re nothing without your colleagues. I might be the one receiving this award, but the whole of the TradeCast team is the actual winner. I’m tremendously proud of this amazing group of people with which we’re conquering the world with this disruptive technology, developed right here in the Zwolle region.”
Region Zwolle Congress
Also nominated in the category Starter of the Year 2016 were Eelko van Drongelen and Ruud Raaijmakers of WeFlyCheap and Bas Hoorn and Rick Klooster of Future Insight. Wiebbe Bonsink from Hebo Maritiem Service was named Entrepreneur of the Year 2016. The entrepreneurs were judged by Jeroen Zuidberg (Zuidberg Frontline Systems, winner Entrepreneur of the Year 2015), Yvo Hütte (Safety Group), Gido Frühling (Baker Tilly Berk), Ben Reuvekamp (chairman of MKB Regio Zwolle), Edwin Peterman (boardmember MKB Regio Zwolle), and led by chairman Klaas Feenstra (director Rabobank IJsseldelta and boardmember VNO-NCW Regio Zwolle). The expert jury had 75 percent of the final vote, 25 percent was voted for by the audience.
